We are raising up the next generation, together.

There’s a place for everyone at Grace, especially God’s youngest disciples. Our Children’s Ministry partners with parents to help kids discover the unfailing power of God’s grace and love.

Our Mission

Partnering with parents to disciple the next generation through the Word, prayer, and community.

As parents, God gives us a special calling to raise our children to follow Jesus, teaching them diligently throughout our day-to-day lives. Since discipleship is a life-long journey we want to show the love and character of Christ and compliment parents’ teaching and training in our classrooms. Through our work in the classroom, resources, and programming Grace partners with parents to train up the next generation through God’s word, prayer, fellowship, and community.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Deuteronomy 6:5-9

How Sunday Mornings Work

Our volunteers and staff love Jesus and are excited to share Him with your children each week. They faithfully prepare for their time in the classrooms and look forward to welcoming your family on Sunday mornings. Our hope is for seeds to be planted in the lives of your children as we partner with you in discipling the children of Grace.

Our age-specific programs are tailored to the needs of children of all ages and abilities, ensuring they get the most out of the Bible’s teachings.

Sunday Mornings During the School Year

During the school year (September – May), we offer classes for nursery through 6th grade.

  • 1st Service: Programming is offered for nursery through 4th grade.
  • 2nd Service: Programming is offered for nursery through 6th grade.

Sunday Mornings During the Summer

During the summer (June – August), classes are offered for children from nursery through PreK. Children in kindergarten through 6th grade join their families in the auditorium for worship.

What to Expect on Sunday Mornings

  • How do I check in and find my child’s classroom?

Visit the New Family Check-In station in the foyer and a volunteer will walk you through the check-in process:

    1. You will be asked for your name, phone number, your child’s name, birthdate, and any allergies and medical concerns.
    2. Families will receive a name tag for each child and a matching security tag for parents that will be used for pick up at the end of the service.
    3. A volunteer will direct you to your child’s classroom.

You’ll find our nursery and younger classrooms in the adjacent hallway, and the classrooms for older children in the East wing of the building. Please let a volunteer know if you need any assistance finding classrooms. We’d be happy to show you the way!

  • What do kids do in class?

Once your child enters their classroom they will be greeted by trained and screened volunteers who will lead them in age appropriate gospel-centered teaching and activities.

A typical Sunday morning class may include worship, snacktime, games, and free-play time depending on age. Please let your child’s teacher know if they have any food allergies, or need any accommodations. If your child has special needs, we’ll talk with you about how we can best serve your family.

  • How can you reach me during the service?

If we need to contact you during the service, the volunteers from your child’s class will text you.

Family Sit-Together Sundays

Our vision is to work alongside parents in raising the next generation of children who love Jesus and follow His command to make disciples. We offer our classes to assist in doing this and hope they are an added “bonus” to what you are already doing at home.

During the summer, and a couple other specific times during the year, families sit together in the auditorium during worship services. We do this to offer our classroom volunteers a break, and it offers a couple of benefits for families:

  • Your children get to see the example you set while worshiping and listening through a service. And, did you know they’re actually taking some of it in as well? Bonus!
  • Opportunities to talk through the sermon together afterwards and answer any questions your kids may have. You can help them process and understand what was being taught.

If your child has special needs, please get in touch with Korene Lanxon at korenel@graceb3.org to discuss how we can accommodate your family during family-sit-together Sundays.

Tips and Tricks for Kids During Worship Services

We’ve put together some tips for making Sit-Together Sundays a success for your family!

  • Share clear expectations.

Having a conversation at home about your expectations can be invaluable. Remember, they’re kids! Things might not go perfectly and that’s OK. This is a learning experience. You don’t need to feel bad if they are noisy or you need to step out for a minute. Grace for all! Consistency is the key.

  • Grab a Children’s Ministry Activity Clipboard.

These are provided each week with age appropriate activities. Check them out in the back of the auditorium.

  • Move and groove during worship.

Have kids clap along to the music with you. If they are involved, they are much more likely to feel like they are a part of the service, rather than just tagging along.

  • Bring their Bible.

Have them bring their own Bible (or use one in the auditorium) and help them find the passage that is being referenced in the sermon. They most likely won’t stay on that page, but it helps reinforce the idea that we are teaching God’s word and they might just explore the Bible on their own. If you need a Bible or suggestions for a good kids Bible, please reach out to a Children’s Ministry staff member.

  • Bring quiet toys and activities.

Bring quiet and special “only at church” activities from home. This helps make church time seem extra special! A few ideas: lacing cards, Wikki Stix, matching games, quiet books, and snacks.
